Celebrating 30 Years of Architecture in Botswana

The Architects Association of Botswana (AAB) marked a landmark milestone with its 30th Anniversary Celebration, an unforgettable evening honouring three decades of excellence, innovation, and enduring contribution to Botswana’s built environment.

Held in Gaborone, the cocktail event brought together Built Environment professionals, government stakeholders, and industry leaders, united by a shared vision: to grow the industry and restore dignity to the profession. The programme featured insightful addresses, commemorative moments, and engaging performances, culminating in the launch of a commemorative book showcasing Botswana’s most notable architectural projects.

Acting Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Honourable Keoagile Atamelang, delivered the keynote address, while AAB President Thandeka Palai called for stronger collaboration, sustainability, and a greater role for architects in national development.

The evening was a powerful reflection of resilience, collective achievement, and the bright future ahead for the profession. To every member, guest, and partner who made the night so memorable, we thank you.

A special word of gratitude to our generous sponsors: Safal Steel, Gerflor, GRS, PPC, Belgotex, Lambdaboard, BMS, Landmark Projects, Jumcorp, Widowbird, Dulux, and Gabana Architects. Your support made this celebration truly exceptional.

Here’s to the next 30 years.
